About Troy Silva
Troy Silva grew up in Atascadero, California, excelling in both baseball and basketball during high school. He continued his baseball career at Cuesta College, a junior college in San Luis Obispo, where he played for two years before being drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 1994 amateur draft. However, instead of signing with the Braves, Troy chose to enroll at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho, a renowned NAIA baseball powerhouse. During his two years at L-C State, he was part of the 1996 NAIA national championship team and earned MVP honors at both the NAIA regional tournament and the NAIA World Series.
In 1997, the Cleveland Indians drafted Troy in the 18th round. He played professional baseball for six years before retiring in 2002 due to two arm surgeries.
After retiring, Troy dedicated himself to teaching baseball, working with players of all ages on hitting and fielding, and educating coaches and parents on effective teaching and motivation techniques. Over the past two decades, he has conducted more than 30,000 lessons, helping thousands of young athletes reach their college and professional baseball aspirations. He is now a nationally recognized leader in player and coaching development and owns and operates Baseball Truth Academy.
A devout Christian, Troy is deeply grateful for the gift God has given him to teach and inspire players, coaches, and parents. He believes that God’s plan for his life was not to make him a big-league baseball player but to make him a significant influence in the lives of others. He is thankful for the opportunity to fulfill this purpose.
Troy’s life goal is not to become a best-selling author but to honor God in all his endeavors. He strives to treat others as more important than himself, a challenging but fulfilling commitment. He prays for discipline in his actions and hopes never to set an UN-Christ-like example that might cause others to reject God’s love.
Troy’s passion lies in helping people become better coaches, players, and parents. He hopes this book will help readers achieve their goals in both hitting and life. May God bless your endeavors!
